Moving on campus means moving into one of the most challenging and rewarding aspects of college life.

Living with other people teaches you more about yourself than any course can. Wingate University guarantees housing to all undergraduate students who want to live on campus. We also guarantee you the support you might need along the way.

First-Year Housing

Once you’re admitted to Wingate University, you’ll submit a housing questionnaire and an enrollment deposit to the Office of Admissions. The Office of Residence Life sends out housing assignments, based on your responses, in mid-July. You’ll need to sign into WUSync to access the necessary forms.

Roommate Matchup

If you want to request a specific roommate, you can do so on your housing questionnaire. If you find a possible roommate after you’ve sent your questionnaire in, just contact the Office of Residence Life. We’ll try our best to arrange it.

Changing Rooms and/or Roommates

We hope you love your room. However, if there is a problem, we give you a chance to change it. There’s an open room change week at the beginning of each semester. You’ll first meet with your resident or community assistant (RA/CA) who will walk you through the process. If there’s an opening in your room, you can request a roommate within a certain time frame. Otherwise, the Office of Residence Life assigns you one.

Count on Our Support

Even if your roommates and hallmates are your soulmates, it’s still safe to expect bumps in the road. We recognize that adjusting to a new way of life takes time. The Office of Residence Life, RAs/CAs and staff are always here to help.
