Dr. Travis Teague
Dr. Travis Teague has served in many capacities related to teaching and research in higher education. He is currently the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs and leads the Office of External Academic Partnerships. Prior to working in the Office of the Provost, he served as the Vice Provost and Dean of the College of Professional Studies for two years and as the Dean of the School of Sport Sciences for eight years. He has been a faculty member at Wingate University for more than 27 years. Dr. Teague has been involved in numerous research projects within the motorsport industry including studies with International Speedway Corporation, Speedway Motorsports Inc., and NASCAR. He is also a principal member of the National Fire Protection Association’s Technical Committee on Safety at Motorsports Venues.
Dr. Teague has worked for years within sport in the area of event and hospitality management, including working at some of the largest motorsport venues in the world, including the Indianapolis 500, United States Formula One Grand Prix, and numerous NASCAR events at the national touring level.
Interesting Fact About Me
Dr. Teague has taught and led experiential learning trips for students in numerous international venues including Italy, Germany, France, Venezuela, and most notably, to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
