Agile Project Management Training Courses

In addition to our Project Management concentration which is a part of the Wingate MBA program curriculum, Wingate also offers a number of Agile Project Management Training courses at Wingate’s Ballantyne Campus.

These Agile training courses are open and available to anyone interested in gaining more knowledge and expertise in Agile concepts, and/or for those seeking various related Agile certifications.

These courses will typically be available on weekdays, Monday through Friday, and on some Saturdays, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at our Ballantyne Campus, subject to course demand and advance notice by those groups or individuals interested. An individual course typically runs over two days, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although these times may vary.

Current Agile Project Management Course Offerings:

Leading SAFe® with SAFe® 4.6.1 Agilist Certification

During this 16 hour, two-day course, attendees will gain the knowledge necessary to lead a Lean-Agile enterprise by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) and its underlying principles derived from Lean, systems thinking, Agile development, product development flow, and DevOps. Attendees will discuss the five competencies needed to become a Lean Enterprise and will learn and practice the skills for supporting and executing PI Planning events and coordinating multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

Attendees will also gain an understanding of the Lean-Agile mindset, why it’s so effective in today’s adapt-or-die marketplace, and what it means to lead a Lean-Agile transformation.

In addition, attendees will:
- Learn how to build and support Agile teams and programs;
- Empower a Lean Portfolio;
- Build a Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture and coordinate large solutions;
- Develop a skill-set that is in demand worldwide, and will empower their enterprises to
succeed in a disruptive marketplace
Attending and completing this class prepares individuals to take the exam needed to become a
certified SAFe® Agilist (SA).

Course Cost: $995 per person – 2 day course
Cost includes course materials along with one SAFe® Agilist (SA) certification exam attempt if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion.

SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager with SAFe® 4.6.1 Product Owner/Product Manager Certification

During this 16-hour two day course, attendees will develop the skill-sets to guide the delivery of value in a Lean enterprise and learn about the activities, tools, and mechanics used to manage backlogs and programs. Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the Agile Release Train (ART), how it delivers value, and what they can do to effectively perform their role.

In addition, attendees will:
- Learn how to apply Lean thinking to write Epics, break them down into Features and Stories, plan and execute Iterations, and plan Program Increments;
- Attendees will learn about the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture, how to effectively integrate as Product Owners and Product Managers, and what it takes to relentlessly improve the ART

Attending and completing this class prepares individuals to take the exam needed to become a certified SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).

Course Cost: $995 per person – 2 day course
Cost includes course materials along with one SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification exam attempt if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion.

SAFe® Scrum Master with SAFe® 4.6.1 Scrum Master Certification

In this 16-hour two-day course, attendees will gain an understanding of the role of a Scrum Master in a SAFe enterprise. Unlike traditional Scrum Master training that focuses on the fundamentals of team-level Scrum, the SAFe Scrum Master course explores the role of the Scrum Master in the context of the entire enterprise, and prepares attendees to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe organization. This includes learning the key components of Agile at scale development, how Scrum is facilitated throughout the enterprise, and how to execute Iteration Planning.

In addition, attendees will discover how to build high performing Agile teams by becoming a servant leader and coach, and how to coach teams to deliver the maximum business value at scale.

SAFe 4 Scrum Master (SSM) certification signifies that people are prepared to perform the role of Scrum Master in a SAFe environment, increasing their value to teams and organizations that are implementing SAFe.

Attending and completing this class prepares individuals to take the exam needed to become a certified Scrum Master with SAFe® 4.6.1 Scrum Master Certification.

PMI®'s Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® Certification Prep Course

This course is a lead-in for individuals considering pursuing PMI® Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification and can be applied toward the 21 hours of education in the specialized area of Agile Project Management set forth by PMI and required for all (PMI-ACP)® credential candidates. The course also offers 14 Scrum Alliance SEUs (Scrum Education Units) in category C.
