Health Sciences Academy
A leading healthcare educator in western North Carolina, Wingate University can help you explore a variety of careers through our weeklong Summer Health Academy. You'll take part in educational and clinical activities that give you a clear understanding of each profession and help you decide if it's the right one for you. As an added benefit, you'll earn your CPR certification in addition to receiving a college credit. To close out the week, you'll learn all you need to know about the college admissions process, as our undergraduate admissions team shares information about financial aid and scholarship opportunities with you and your family. This academy is available to current high school students.

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. | Emergency Medical Technician: "On the Frontlines of Healthcare," Explore the inside of an ambulance and hear about what it's like to be an EMT. | |
6/24 | 9 a.m. to noon | Exercise Science: "How Healthy is Your Heart?" See how an EKG is done and practice taking heart rates and blood pressures in response to exercise. |
Noon to 2 p.m. | Lunch with your family. Hear about the admissions process at Wingate and financial aid opportunities. A panel of faculty and students will answer your questions about the professions and the programs at Wingate. Explore campus with representatives from our Admissions Office. |
