Two Wingate University graduate programs are proud to call Hendersonville, NC home: Physician Assistant Studies and the School of Pharmacy.

Nestled in among the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains and 22 miles south of Asheville, NC, Hendersonville is a delightful small city that has become a popular travel destination. With a population of almost 14,000, there’s a vibrant downtown with more than 100 shops, galleries and dining options. Beyond the city limits, the natural world offers world-class whitewater rafting, hiking and biking trails and serene mountain vistas.

Beyond the charms of Mother Nature, Hendersonville offers Wingate University graduate students the opportunity to hone their skills in a $32 million state-of-the-art Health Sciences Center. The facility is a partnership between Henderson County, Pardee UNC Health Care, Blue Ridge Community College, the city of Hendersonville and Wingate University, contains smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, soft spaces for study and faculty offices. Students will have direct access to patients as well as collaborative learning experiences.

Harris Department of Physician Assistant Studies

The Wingate University Physician Assistant Studies Program is one program offered at two campuses. The program admits one class each year, beginning in late August. The Wingate University PA Studies Program accepts 60 students per cohort. About forty students are admitted to the Wingate campus and twenty to the Hendersonville campus. The program uses synchronous distance learning, wherein faculty interact in real time with students, regardless of which Wingate University location they’re attending. Students can engage with each other at both locations during class.
