John Huneycutt earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wingate University in 2004.  His work has been featured in both regional and national magazines, as well as museums. Come to Helms Gallery to see his wet plate photography exhibit.

Wet Plate Collodion is a 19th century, photographic technique that produces images on metal plates, and was invented by Frederick Archer in 1851. The process involves adding a soluble iodide to a solution of collodion (cellulose nitrate) and coating a glass plate with the mixture.

Helms Art Gallery is a vibrant space in which faculty works challenge, inspire and educate students through visual art.

Located in the Batte Center, Helms Art Gallery is an exhibition gallery space for art created by Wingate University faculty. The rotating exhibitions and programming provide opportunities for visitors to engage in discussions and gain from an exposure to diverse forms of art. Helms Art Gallery Monday through Friday 10am until 5pm
