North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains create an inviting backdrop for Wingate University Hendersonville and our pharmacy and physician assistant studies programs.
The Wingate University School of Pharmacy and the Harris Department of Physician Assistant Studies program enroll a small cohort of students each year on this campus, separately from the cohorts attending classes on the Wingate, NC campus.
Both of these highly competitive programs use synchronous distance education with their counterparts on the Wingate campus. This means students and faculty on both campuses can see, hear and interact with each other. Lab instruction takes place onsite in Hendersonville. The sites for the clinical year for PA students and IPPE and APPE rotations for pharmacy students tend to be located in the western part of North Carolina.
In the summer of 2016, both of the Hendersonville programs will move into the $25 million state-of-the-art Health Sciences Center. This building, a partnership between Henderson County, Pardee UNC Health Care, Blue Ridge Community College, the city of Hendersonville and Wingate University, contains smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, soft spaces for study and faculty offices. Students will have direct access to patients as well as collaborative learning experiences.
If you’d like to learn more about either the pharmacy or physician assistant programs in Hendersonville, NC, we invite you to contact each program directly.
