Interested in an MBA?
Designed for working professionals; online, in-person or both. Take your career to the next level with Wingate's MBA program.
Our nationally accredited Charlotte MBA program has been advancing the careers of Charlotte, NC professionals since 1991. Our part-time, evening MBA Program is located at Wingate University’s Ballantyne Campus, located in the Gibson Building in the Ballantyne Corporate Park.
The MBA curriculum consists of 36 credits which includes 12 three-credit courses. It is divided into two components: core courses (30 credits) and concentration courses (6 credits). Core courses cover the complete range of business disciplines and serves as the general management foundation for the program. Concentration courses provide added depth and relevance in specific areas of emphasis that connect to student career goals and professional interests.
The Wingate MBA is customized based on student preference with course delivery options including online delivery, in-person delivery, and/or a combination of both.
Most MBA classes “originate” from the Wingate Ballantyne Campus starting at 6:00 pm on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night, with most students taking classes one or two nights per week. Each MBA class meets once per week during the Fall and Spring semesters, and twice per week during our two accelerated Summer Sessions. A typical course load is one or two courses per semester. All classes are taught “live” by the instructor from the classroom with students present while being simultaneously broadcast live via Zoom/Canvas to students who are not physically present in the classroom. Students will have the option to take classes via 100% online/remote delivery; or they may elect to attend classes in person at the Ballantyne Campus subject to classroom social distancing capacity constraints; or they may take a combination of both.
Students may move in and out of the different delivery modes from class meeting to class meeting as best fits their needs. For example, a student may take part in a Wednesday night class in-person one night, and then take part in the same class the following Wednesday night via online/remote delivery. Students do not have to choose a particular delivery mode in advance--students may customize their MBA experience based on the delivery mode that best suits them from day to day.
This “online/in-person/combination model” provides a best of both worlds customized format for the Wingate MBA Program that will not only ensure maximum safety to students during the COVID environment, but will provide maximum flexibility and convenience for students in the post-COVID future and beyond.
Please note, when Wingate University operates under normal conditions, F1 visa international students are required to follow the in-person class requirements to maintain their student visa status. Please email international@wingate.edu for further information.
For students who receive assistance through their company’s tuition reimbursement program, tuition payments are deferred until the end of each semester, which can save out-of-pocket expenses.
