We want to ensure you’re as healthy in body as in mind. There’s no shortage of ways for you to get fit or stay in shape. We offer outstanding campus facilities with a broad range of intramural sports, fitness classes, sports clubs, outdoor recreation and events. Current students and staff can click below on “Current Bulldogs” to check out the McGee Center calendar, sign up for a fitness class, make an intramural team, or learn more about the facility.
McGee Center is Open:
Normal Summer Hours (June/July)
- Mon. - Thur.: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Fri: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Sat/Sun: Closed
Holiday Hours
- June 19th: Closed
- July 3rd: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- July 4th: Closed
Indoor Pool Hours:
Monday - Thursday: Noon - 4 p.m.
Friday: Noon - 2 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.

MEMBERSHIP
The McGee Center is accessible to current Wingate Students, Faculty, and Staff. A WU ID card is required to gain access. Benefits include:
- Eligible to sponsor up to four guests
- Free access to Group Fitness Classes and Intramural Sports
A Daily guest pass for $5 per day, is available to all non-affiliated persons with a sponsor who is a current Wingate Student, Faculty, or Staff member. A valid ID is required for purchase.
A Summer Student Membership is available for purchase to all students who are not enrolled for the Summer Semester and who were actively enrolled in the prior spring semester.
Facilities
The two-story McGee Center opened in 2017 with:
- A multipurpose activity court
- A suspended running track
- Areas for weight and cardio training
- Racquetball courts
- Spacious locker rooms
- Two basketball courts
- Two fitness studios
- Lounge area with Nintendo switch, shuffleboard, and foosball
Employment
You can get a job leading fitness classes, reffing a game or managing the facilities. Meanwhile, you’re developing marketable skills that will help you succeed after graduation.
fitness
The Fitness Program promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle through group fitness, personal training, and special events/challenges. All Wingate Students, Faculty, and Staff can register for these programs on Corq!
intramural Sports
The Intramural Sports Program provides the WU Community with the opportunity to compete and have fun in various team and individual sports. A few of the sports offered include flag football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and pickleball!
