As one of the smaller nursing schools in North Carolina, we deliver big on our promise to students: You won’t get lost in the shuffle here.
Nursing and honors nursing courses at Wingate University help you turn your career goals into reality. With our low student-to-faculty ratio, you receive individual attention and the encouragement to become a leader in the profession. And in addition to a hands-on education, you gain real-life experience in a clinical setting. Throughout your time here, we help you develop and practice the supporting principles of Wingate University: Faith, Knowledge and Service. When you visit us, you’ll quickly see why Wingate University’s nursing program is different from the other nursing schools in North Carolina.
Careers for Nursing Majors
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing opens many doors. Couple your clinical-reasoning skills with an advanced degree and you can become a nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist or a nurse mid-wife. A nursing major and a minor in sociology sets you up for success as a public health nurse. The science-based skills you hone and an interest in law can lead to a career as a forensics nurse. Or you may decide to put your empathy and communication skills to work as a nurse advocate. Whether you plan to enter the workforce as an RN, or move on to advanced degree programs, we’re committed to your success.
You Come First
Our faculty and staff work closely with you to fully understand your goals. This means you get the best education for the nursing career you want.
Additionally, our program is SACS- and ACEN-accredited. Our students gain valuable hands-on experience by working with local hospitals. These include CHS-Union, Novant Matthews Medical Center, Novant Presbyterian Medical Center and CHS-Northeast. That’s just one more reason we’re among the best nursing schools in North Carolina.
