Embedded Tutors (ET's) are currently enrolled Wingate University students who have excelled in the course they support in the ET Program. They attend the same course with the students so that they know exactly what concepts and/or topics that have been covered.
They work face-to-face and/or online, in a one-to-one or small group setting to assist in helping students understand course concepts and enhance student engagement. ET’s provide guidance and feedback to students outside of the designed class time.
These ET sessions provide one-on-one and/or group tutoring sessions for students. These tutoring sessions are designed to be on a “drop-in” basis thus no reservation or sign-up needed. The ET sessions are held weekly and at consistent times. The times and locations are shown below.
Many colleges and universities state that Embedded Tutoring helps students increase their grade in the course that they attend ET sessions and that the students thrive on the positive peer-lead learning environment. ET also provides a different option than larger group active learning Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions.
