A global microcosm in idyllic North Carolina, Wingate University nurtures a thriving community of students from around the world.
As an international student, you’ll want to take advantage of our many activities and events that promote cultural exchange.
Held at the beginning of every academic year, this gathering brings together new and returning international students. You’ll make new friends, connect with old ones and build a vital support network.
Wingate University celebrates what it means to be a global citizen during this seven-day festival. Students serve as cultural ambassadors, introducing new ideas, foods and games from around the world.
Throughout the year, students and faculty members are invited to make internationally focused presentations based on their research and personal experiences.
The Office of International Studies opens up Wingate University’s multicultural resources to the greater community by arranging speaking engagements at local schools. International students invite area students to international events on campus to encourage intercultural dialog. It doesn’t hurt that you make friends and have fun while giving back to the community.
Get Together and Get Involved
It’s important to us that you get the most out of your time at Wingate University. The student-run International Club has been set up to promote diversity on campus. But it’s not just a place to meet up. The Office of International Studies is involved in the club to make sure all the needs of international students’ are met. One focus of the club is to assist international students in honing marketable career skills.
And let’s not forget the annual tradition of a farewell party honoring graduating international students at the end of the school year.
