It’s never too late to go for the future you really want. Wingate University welcomes transfer students.
If you’re thinking about applying to Wingate University as a transfer student, you probably want to know more about how to become a Bulldog.
Who’s accepted to Wingate University?
We recommend that incoming transfer students carry at least a 2.5 cumulative college GPA. That said, we look at the whole picture when evaluating potential students. If in doubt, apply as a transfer student and allow us to work together to find the best fit for you.
What can I study?
With both undergraduate and graduate tracks, our academic majors and programs cover everything from traditional humanities to professional graduate degree programs. These are our most popular undergraduate majors:
For a full list of our programs, see our Majors and Programs page.
What is the deadline for applying?
Since we use a rolling admissions process, there is no deadline for applying to Wingate University. However, we do recommend that you apply six weeks before classes start. Apply by the first week of December if you want to transfer to Wingate and begin at the start of the spring of 2017 semester.
Can I afford it?
The cost of a Wingate University education is competitive with North Carolina’s public colleges. The Wingate Pledge promises that undergrads who follow the curriculum and maintain a minimum GPA get their degrees in four years. Finishing on schedule guarantees you a more affordable education. Although we are a private university, approximately 95 percent of incoming students receive financial aid, and all admitted students are considered for scholarships, with no extra application needed. We determine financial estimates as early as September and official packages by late February. To get started, estimate your eligibility for federal aid and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Talk to us about your specific situation and we can determine the bottom line cost for you.
Will my credits transfer?
The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement stipulates that North Carolina community college students who complete an A.A. or A.S. degree can apply credits to Wingate University’s core foundational requirements. See the North Carolina Community College Transfer Guide for a complete list of credits that can be applied to your Wingate University degree. If you are transferring from another college or university, see our transferring FAQs for more information about how your credits transfer.
