PT Students assist patients at the free clinic.

W'RAP Clinic

Our MissionTo improve the health and quality of life of Wingate and surrounding communities by providing student-led physical therapy services to underserved and under-insured individuals, while promoting student engagement that translates to the development of future physical therapists based on the core beliefs of altruism, compassion, and social responsibility.

Wingate Rehabilitation and Performance (W’RAP), is a free physical therapy clinic that provides rehabilitation services to patients who are un-insured or under-insured. W’RAP utilizes an outpatient model and provides treatment to patients with a wide range of diagnoses.  In this clinic Wingate Doctor of Physical Therapy students are actively providing services under the supervision of faculty to patients who otherwise would not be receiving care. The W’RAP clinic provides a unique opportunity for students to integrate knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in the context of real-life patients while working alongside faculty members. W’RAP opened on June 7, 2021 to in-person treatment, although telehealth options are available. Initial startup funds were provided through a Wingate University Board of Visitors grant.
