The College Panhellenic Council oversees Wingate University’s sororities. We organize formal recruitment¬†in the fall and coordinate intersorority events. We help maintain positive values for Greek life on campus, ensuring that sisters have rewarding and memorable experiences.

We also represent Wingate University’s organizations in the National Panhellenic Conference, which governs the 26 member sororities throughout the United States.

Formal Recruitment

Wingate University’s sororities select new members through formal recruitment each fall. The CPC coordinates the series of events that help prospective members and sororities get to know each one another. Women interested in Greek life visit each chapter, meet the sisters and learn about the chapter’s philanthropy and values.

CPC members and other volunteers disaffiliate themselves from their sororities during recruitment. They serve as Pi Chis, impartial guides who help prospective members through the recruitment process.

Joining CPC

Wingate University’s College Panhellenic Council consists of six women from Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega and Sigma Sigma Sigma. If interested in joining CPC, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Belong to one of the four member organizations
  • Apply in November for the following academic year

Representatives are chosen by a committee that includes sorority presidents and advisers, Associate Director of Student Involvement Diana Coyle and CPC board members.
