You’ve joined the faculty or are a new member of the staff.  Welcome! The first thing you need to know is that we can help you get connected.

We’d like to welcome you to the Wingate community! We know that for many people, their first questions are about how to connect to the Internet and what’s the name of the Wi-Fi network. We’ve got those answers for you. You’ll also find links to help you with other issues related to your mobile devices that you might find useful.

Wireless Locations

Wingate University Wi-Fi network connections are available in most of the academic and administrative buildings on the Wingate, NC campus.

Wi-Fi in Academic and Administrative Buildings

All academic and administrative buildings have secure wireless access to the Wingate, NC campus network.  For access on the Hendersonville and Ballantyne campuses, please check with the local administrators for the current passwords.

On the Wingate, NC campus, there are three Wi-Fi networks available for faculty and staff use in these areas. To connect your mobile devices, please follow these instructions:

1. WINGATE is for faculty and staff who are logging into the campus domain from a university-owned computer. To access this network:

      • Connect to the network named WINGATE.
      • Enter your Wingnet username and password and then press enter.

2. WINGATE-WIFI is for faculty and staff who are logging into the wireless network using their personal mobile devices. This network allows you to print using university resources. To access this network:

      • Connect your device to the network named WINGATE-WIFI.
      • Enter the security password.*
      • Your browser should open to the captive portal.  Enter your Wingnet username and password.

3. WINGATE-GUEST is for faculty and staff who are logging into the wireless network using their personal mobile devices. This network does not allow you to print using university resources. To access this network:

      • Connect to the network named WINGATE-GUEST using your personal mobile device.
      • Enter the security password.*

*Please contact the IT Office in the Library for the password.

Wi-Fi and Apple Products

If you personal mobile device is an Apple product, such as an iPad or iPhone, you’ll need to follow the instructions on our Apple Wi-Fi Access page.
