Wingate University wants to welcome YOU to the United States!
From arrival to graduation, Wingate University’s Office of International Programs helps you keep it all together during this exciting time in your life. We’re here to help you stay informed about U.S. regulations so that you can focus on your coursework, social life or athletics. We’re also your sounding board for questions or concerns you might have while adjusting to American culture. We work with new and returning international students to coordinate activities that connect you with every corner of campus.
Getting Started as a New Student
Considering Wingate University or jumping into our campus life for the first time? Review our procedures and policies for international student admissions and admitted international student checklist. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Although it is your responsibility as the student to maintain your F-1 visa status, our office does stay up-to-date on changing immigration regulations for international students and can assist you with the following:
- Maintaining an F-1 Visa
- Obtaining a driver’s license or state ID
- Preparing for travel outside of the US while on an F-1 visa
- Completing US Tax requirements
- Understanding employment regulations
International Student Support
At the required International Student Orientation, you will receive a copy of the International Student Guide (PDF). You can review the current online guide to understand the various ways our office will support you during your time at Wingate. When you have questions, we hope you’ll stop by our office in the DPC. We want you to feel at home when you join the Wingate community.
