What is a transcript?

A transcript is the permanent record of a student’s academic history at Wingate University. An official transcript is printed on Scrip-Safe paper and includes the university seal and the Registrar’s signature. It is given to the student or mailed in a sealed envelope bearing a raised seal and the Registrar’s signature.

What information does the transcript include?

A Wingate University transcript contains the following information:

  • Any degrees/majors/minors earned
  • Any Latin, university and/or departmental honors
  • Any transfer work
  • Date of completion if degree was awarded
  • Date of birth (month and day)
  • Dates of attendance
  • Final cumulative GPA
  • Record owner’s name
  • Student ID number
  • The date the transcript was printed

The transcript also provides course titles, grades, hours attempted, hours earned, quality points and GPAs (term and cumulative). This information is presented for each semester in attendance.

How much does it cost to get a transcript?

At the present time, transcripts are free.

Why would I want to request a transcript?

There are many reasons for requesting a transcript. Some common reasons include internship application, graduate school application and job verification for a potential employer.

Are there different ways to request a transcript?

Yes, you can submit a digital form on the Request a Transcript page, or you can request it in person or via fax or mail.

I’m a current student. Do I need to follow the same process?

No, current students may request a transcript through their WinLINK account. They may also print an unofficial transcript through WinLINK.

What should I do to request a transcript?

To request a transcript, visit the Request a Transcript page, fill out the form on the page and submit it. You can also download a copy of the form and mail it, fax it or deliver it by hand to the Office of the Registrar. You’ll find all the information you need on the Request a Transcript page.

How long does it take to receive a transcript once I request it?
