What is a transcript?

A transcript is the permanent record of a student’s academic history at Wingate University.

What information does the transcript include?

A Wingate University transcript contains the following information:

  • Any degrees/majors/minors earned
  • Any Latin, university and/or departmental honors
  • Any transfer work
  • Date of completion if degree was awarded
  • Date of birth (month and day)
  • Dates of attendance
  • Final cumulative GPA
  • Record owner’s name
  • Student ID number
  • The date the transcript was printed

The transcript also provides course titles, grades, hours attempted, hours earned, quality points and GPAs (term and cumulative). This information is presented for each semester in attendance.

Why would I want to request a transcript?

There are many reasons for requesting a transcript. Some common reasons include internship application, graduate school application and job verification for a potential employer.

What should I do to request a transcript?

Go to the Wingate transcript ordering page on the National Student Clearinghouse website.  Electronic transcripts cost $4, but you can track your request.

Are there different ways to request a transcript?

We recommend requesting electronic transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse.  Transcripts cost only $4, and they are sent the same day.

If you need a paper copy, you can submit a Transcript Request Form in person or via fax or mail.
