Complete these checklist items before you begin a Temporary Leave of Absence (TLA) from Wingate University.

So you received approval to begin a Temporary Leave of Absence (TLA). You’ll need to tie up loose ends before leaving campus.

For easy reference, print this list. Then check off the items as you complete them:

  • Clear all account balances with the Business Office in Stegall Administration Building. This includes housing and meal plan charges. Give them a forwarding address so they can send you mail during your TLA.
  • If you have a student loan at Wingate University, visit the Student Financial Planning office in Stegall Administration Building. Ask for federally required loan exit counseling.
  • Stop by the Office of Student Success in Alumni 107/110. Submit a TLA Request Form and documentation.
  • Visit the Residence Life Office in Dickson-Palmer Center. Give them the date and time that you plan to leave campus for TLA. Turn in your room keys and complete the Room Condition Form. Give your forwarding address to Cheryl Miller in the mailroom so you can receive mail from the university during TLA.
