Financial Aid and Payment Options

The Office of Student Financial Planning works with prospective students and their families to help fund educational expenses. This includes completing the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and comparing award packages.

Wingate University offers an interest-free monthly payment plan. The university accepts VISA, Discover and MasterCard.

Residence Life

About 75 percent of Wingate University students live on campus. First-year students live in Cannon, Alumni Hall  or JM Smith residence halls. First-year students may also participate in the Health/Science or First Leadership Year learning and living communities.

For roommate selection, accepted students fill out a questionnaire covering preferences and special needs. Our housing office matches students with common interests.

First-year students may have cars on campus.

Campus Safety

All residence halls have exterior card-access security locks and individual room keys.

Wingate University has 24-hour campus security, a siren system and an alert system to notify students and parents via home or cell phones during an emergency.

Campus walkways are well-lit and feature blue-light help phones that link directly to emergency dispatchers. Students may also call 9-911 in emergency situations.

Student Health

In case of illness, students may contact The Health Center at 704-233-8102. The Health Center is open from 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday. A full-time nurse practitioner may be seen by appointment. The office visit is free.

Disability Support Services

Wingate University provides equal opportunities for qualified students with disabilities. Students should register with Disability Support Services prior to or at the beginning of their first semester.
